This week when I checked the mail I received back a package that I had sent to Germany two months earlier! I had sent a CD to Bernhard who is an artist in Germany who I did a remix for and I put it on my latest CD “Keeping It Salty” I had checked with him several times and he said he had not received it. So eventually I sent him another CD to a different address and he received that one. So it’s fun that I sent a package all the way across the globe to Germany and now I have it back here.

Track 1 from my new CD, “Keeping It Salty” is called Undignified (Remix). The vocals on this one are by Sterling Allen. Sterling had been the worship leader at Bethany United Methodist Church a couple of years ago and I had the chance to work with him while I was working there also. We sat down one afternoon in the Sanctuary and he sang this song, I recorded it and this is what I came up with. The original version of it is by Matt Redman.
Sterling comments on the CD here:
“DJ Salty Flavor has done it again with this great album of remixes and dance music! His music is clearly put together with the hope of enjoyment by all who listen. Anyone looking for club style music with clean content should go immediately to this cd.” –Sterling M. Allen, A&M United Methodist Church College Station, Texas
Josh Woodhouse is the mastering engineer for my latest CD, “Keeping It Salty.” He also helped me with the artwork design and the duplication. He is kind of an all in one shop for your CD production, mastering, duplication and artwork. It was cool to work with him.
I noticed that the picture on the back of my CD was slightly stretched and my wife noticed too. It wasn’t too apparent to some of my fans but none the less I wanted him to check it out. I brought it over to him and he agreed it was a little stretched and possibly explained why. He said that he would talk to his duplication artists about it and also to compensate me he would give me some free mastering.
So thanks Josh I appreciate that.
If you want to work with Josh Woodhouse for your next CD I definitely recommend him.

So as some of you know I had my CD release party this weekend on Saturday. It was a good turn out and I definitely had fun and felt the love from all the people that showed up.
You know I sent out the evite and I was hoping to see some people that said they would come and but then they didn’t and then some other people who said they wouldn’t or might not come came so it was fun to see who came out for the party.
I didn’t know Alex North was so good at ping pong!! I am not bad but I was out of practice and he beat me three straight games. I used to have a ping pong table when I was in high school and I got quite good but Alex must have been practicing in his spare time or something.
In addition I wanted to announce that my CD is available for purchase online now through CD Baby!

I also had fun on Saturday morning playing with power tools and helping fix the parking lot stoppers at Bethany UMC.
Hope you had a good weekend too!
Yes that day has finally arrived. That day was Thursday and has gone and went by now. I am so excited about getting the CD. I listened to it with my wife and we were able to enjoy the music together. That same day I picked up 50 copies of my previous album “Trust in the Lord” and so now I am ready and armed with 250 copies of my music to hand out and sell in the next couple of months. I hope that many are sold and many are listened to and enjoyed in the coming months.
Until Next Time,
Be Blessed,
Matt Bryant aka DJ Salty Flavor
p.s. I am going to watch the movie Marley and Me now with my wife. I had IHOP this morning for breakfast…..hmmmm….yummy stuff.
So Tuesday came and went and I did not get my CD’s. Today came and went and I did not get my CD’s. Josh Woodhouse did give me an update stating that I will meet Hunter around noon tomorrow to pick them up. My previous CD Trust in the Lord is also ready with 50 copies at a cd duplication place called Affordable Sound. So tomorrow I wait with anticipation yet again to see my music come alive in the form of a CD. I hope Keeping It Salty lives up to my expectations.
Till then,
Be Blessed.
I just started reading a great new book by my new favorite author Ted Dekker called Green. He wrote three other books called Black, White and Red. This book is the prequel and sequel to that series. Special thanks to Chad Kingsbury for introducing me to this author and series of books because they are excellent lunch reading material and I would recommend them to anyone.
So at 12:30 p.m. I met Josh Woodhouse of Droplink productions to give him half the payment due for the CD so print guys could start the art work duplication and CD duplication. I approved it all as of yesterday and so they should be duplicating now.
200 copies of the CD should be totally ready Tuesday September 8th oh joy!
Oh joy indeed.
The artwork of all things is taking the most time to get down and right. I am was generally happy with it but then this last go around they changed some things and/or duplicated some text that didn’t need to be duplicated. The face of the CD didn’t look right either. Needless to say the artwork is holding up the process but I hope I really hope that today I can sign off on it and have it done by the end of this week but as you can see I have been saying that for a while now.
In other news I am meeting with Chuck from http://www.one21music.com to talk about Christian Electronica music. We are meeting this morning over some Rudy’s breakfast tacos for like 30 minutes before I have to go to work. It should be interesting.
So I made some changes to the liner notes and sent those over to Josh and after I proof all the art work we will be ready to print them next week hopefully starting Monday. So then next week sometime the CD should be ready and that’s super cool! I can’t wait to get it and share it with everyone. That’s my latest update!
I picked up the mastered copy of Keeping it Salty my new CD and all the songs sound great. I was listening to them using iTunes and thought I heard some distortion on the tracks and I was like oh no what is that?!?! and then I looked and the sound enhancer was checked on and was on high…well I didn’t need any more enhancing to my songs. After I turned that off everything sounded great. I am just waiting on one more artist that I might hear from today about how she wants her info in the liner notes/credits and then I might be done. Hopefully by the end of the week it will be off to the printing presses. This is so cool! The artwork looks real professional.
In addition, I booked the Lighthouse for the CD release party on September 26th so hopefully that will go well.
Hope you are having a good day and you are working towards your dreams becoming a reality like this one.
